Increased complxation ability of water-soluble calix[4]resorcinarene octacarboxylate toward phenol by the asssistance of Fe(II) ions
Article Abstract:
Complexation ability of water-soluble calix[4]resorcinarene octacarboxylate toward phenol by the assistance of Fe(II) ions are investigated in aqueous solutions by photoluminescence (PL) and quantum-chemical methods. The results show that water-soluble calix[4]resorcinarene octacarboxylate forms stable sandwich-type complexes with phenols by 1:2 stoichimetry.

Complex formation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) ions with octafunctionalized C-methyl-calix[4]resorcinarene possessing -OCH2COOH (K) moieties
Article Abstract:
The interactions of Fe(II) and Fe(III) ions with octafunctionalized C-methyl-calix[4]resorcinarene were investigated by photoluminescence and quantum-chemical methods. The results suggest that Fe(II) ions formed complexes with C-methyl-calix[4]resorcinarene while the complexation of Fe(III) ions based on the chelate formation.

Effect of the solvatation shell exchange on the formation of malvidin-3-O-glucoside-ellagic acid complexes
Article Abstract:
The effect of ethanol content of aqueous solutions on the complex formation ability of malvidin with ellagic acid is analyzed. The solvatation shell of the malvidin-ellagic acid complexes has changed from water to ethanol around the critical alcohol concentration.
